4.7 Switching signal channels
The device has 4 switching signal channels (SSC). The switching signal channels are each assigned
to a counter module.
Each switching signal channel provides 2 switching signals. The switching signals can be output at the
output channels of ports X01...X04.
The switching signal channels can be operated as normally closed (low active) or normally open (high
active).
4.7.1 Deactivated
Can be combined with counter modules: CTU, CTD, CTUD, CTDIR
In the switch point mode Deactivated, the status of the counter module (main counter + batch counter)
has no effect on the switching signal output. The switching signal is permanently in the INACTIVE
state.

4.7.2 Latch mode
Can be combined with counter modules: CTU, CTD, CTUD, CTDIR
In the Latch Mode switch point mode, the overflow or underflow events and the Latch Reset control
signal are evaluated to derive the switching signal status.
As soon as the switching signal channel detects an overflow or underflow event, the switching signal is
set (ACTIVE). The switching signal remains in this state even if further overflow or underflow events
occur.
As soon as the switching signal channel detects a rising edge at the Latch Reset control signal, the
switching signal is reset (INACTVE).
If the switching signal channel simultaneously detects an overflow or underflow event and a rising
edge at the Latch Reset control signal, the switching signal is reset (INACTIVE).
