4.6.1 IODD Extender
The device has a function for automatically detecting IO-Link devices and displaying the interpreted
data of the detecting IO-Link devices.
Available functions:
• Initial check of the entire IoT Core of the device for the presence of IO-Link devices (element
profile: iolinkdevice_full)
• When changes are made to the tree structure of the IoT Core or when connected IO-Link devices
are detected
For all detected IO-Link devices:
• Requesting the appropriate IOOD from the IODD administration
• Automatic extension of the IoT Core tree in substructure /iolinkdevice
• Interpreting the data of the IO-Link device using the IODD
The IODD extender function is enabled in the factory settings.
4.6.1.1 Example: IO-Link device KQ6005;
• IO-Link input process data (record 16 bits) consisting of process value in °C (integer 12 bits) and
switching status [OUT1] (Boolean 1 bit)
IO-Link input process data: 0x0160 = 0b0000 0001 0110 0000
• Process value: 0b000000010110 = 22°C
• Switching status [OUT1]: 0b0 = False
