4 System description
4.1 IO-Link
The device offers the functionality of an IO-Link master (IO-Link standard: 1.1/4"
4.1.1 IO-Link supply
The device provides power supplies for IO-Link devices (sensors, actuators).
• The ports X1...X4 are IO-Link ports (Class B).
• The ports X5...X8 are IO-Link ports (Class A).
The device ensures fire protection for connected IO-Link devices by providing an energy-limited circuit
at the ports (according to IEC61010-1 and class 2 to UL1310).
4.1.2 Parameter storage and device validation
The device supports the IO-Link functions device validation and automatic backup/restoration of
parameter data of the connected IO-Link devices (Data Storage + Validation).
