u Go to the following URL: http://<ip_eth3>:8090/browse (e.g. http://
192.168.83.247:8090/browse )
w User interface of the ifm IoT Core Visualizer appears.
u Select [Update] menu.
w Menu page shows information about the current firmware version.
u In the [Firmware] area: Click on [Load software file].
w File explorer appears.
u Select new firmware version and click [Open].
u In the [Firmware] area: Click on [Update].
w The firmware of the device is updated.
w The area shows the progress of the update process.
w After successful update: The device starts automatically.
10.5.2 Updating the system software via USB port
ATTENTION
The protection rating does not apply if the service cover is open and there is no ESD
protection of the accessible contacts inside.
w Damage to the device possible
u Clean the area around the service cover before opening it.
u Protect the inside of the device, sealing areas and sealing of the service cover from
soiling and humidity.
u Apply ESD measures during the update process.
u Check sealing areas and sealing for soiling. Clean them, if necessary.
Requirements:
u Disconnect the device from the voltage supply.
u Copy the system software file (*.swu) to the root directory of the USB memory.
u Ensure that only one swu file is stored in the root directory of the USB memory.
u Connect the USB memory with a free USB port of the device.
u Remove the service cover on the front of the device (width across flats 13 mm or ¼").
w The Boot Recovery button is visible.
