6. REFRIGERANT TUBE CONNECTION
6. Place the aring tool on the shape.
7. Turn the handle of the aring tool clockwise until the pipe is fully
ared. Flare the pipe with the dimensions indicated on the
Tabla 6.1.
8. Remove the aring tool and form and then
inspect the end of the pipe for cracks and
even aring.
Step 4: Connecting tubes
Connect the copper tubes to the indoor unit
rst, and then connect them to the outdoor
unit. You need to connect the low pressure
pipes rst and then the high pressure pipes.
1. When connecting the are nuts, apply a
thin layer of refrigeration oil to the are
ends of the pipes..
2. Align the center of the two tubes you are
going to connect.
3. Hand-tighten as much as possible
are nut.
4. Using a wrench, tighten the nut on the
unit piping.
5. While holding the nut rmly, use a torque
wrench to tighten the are nut according
to the torque values from Table 6.1.
NOTE: Use a wrench and torque wrench when connecting or
disconnecting pipes to/from the unit.
• Be sure to wrap insulation around the pipe, direct contact with bare
pipe may cause burns or frostbite.
• Make sure the tubing is properly connected. Overtightening can da-
mage the conical tube and undertightening can cause leaks.
