Solve common printer problems.
You can also get help from the HP Smart app and printer control panel:

● HP Smart: Provides alerts for printer issues (jams and other problems), links to help content, and options to
contact support for additional assistance.

Update the printer
HP periodically releases rmware updates to enhance product functionality and x issues.
By default, if the printer (Wi-Fi models) or the connected computer has Internet connection, the printer
automatically checks for updates at regular intervals.
To update the printer manually, follow the instructions in the next sections.
HP Smart (iOS, Android, and Windows 10)
Follow these steps:
1. Open the software on your computer or mobile device. If prompted, create or sign in to an HP account.
2. Click or tap your printer image to access the printer settings.
3. Select Advanced Settings.
This opens the printer home page or embedded web server (EWS).
4. In EWS, click or tap Tools.
5. Click or tap Printer Updates.
6. Select Firmware Updates and follow the onscreen instructions.
Download from the HP support website
Follow these steps:
1. Make sure the printer is on and connected to your computer.
2. Visit the HP support website on your computer.
3. Locate your product to download and install the latest rmware.
The embedded web server (EWS)
You can update the printer or change the settings from EWS for network printers.
