Work rest (for sanding against contact wheel)
• Fold the rear cover (1) upwards.
• Loosen the adjusting screws (2).
• Position the work rest (3) at the desired distance and height
from the sanding belt.
• Fix the adjusting screws (2)
NOTE: Fold the rear cover down again as soon as you have
finished sanding the rear of the machine!
Sanding belt direction of rotation
• Use the selector switch (1) to select the desired direction of
rotation:
• Pos. left (2): counter clockwise (pipe sander, surface
sanding)
• Pos. right (3): clockwise (sanding against contact
wheel)
Sanding belt speed (only MSM75_3IN1_400V)
• Set the desired speed (1), see chapter Technical data:
• Pos. left (2): slow
• Pos. right (3): fast
OPERATION
CAUTION
Avoid touching the sanding belt immediately after use as it can become very hot.
Only operate the machine when it is in a perfect condition. Before each operation, a visual
inspection of the machine must be carried out. Safety devices, electrical lines and operating
elements must be checked carefully. Check screw connections for damage and tight fit.
15.1 Operating instructions
• Before switching on, make sure that the protective cover is closed. All covers must always
be closed or folded down (protective shield, rear cover and cover for sanding surface). Only
open the cover for the respective sanding point and close it after the sanding process.
• Make sure that you have removed all the adjustment tools that you used during
adjustments from the machine.
• Before processing a workpiece, check the sanding belt track and the sanding belt tension.
• When using the clamping device:
o Check that the workpiece is firmly fixed in the clamping device.
o Check that the workpiece is not touching the sanding belt before starting.
• If the clamping device is not used, hold the workpiece firmly with both hands. If possible,
use the work rest to support the workpiece.
• The workpiece becomes hot during processing. Cool the workpiece in cold water or
another approved solution during longer periods of work.
• Change the sanding belt frequently to achieve the best performance.
• Do not force the workpiece against the sanding machine.
• Sanding often produces sparks. Ensure that no persons are in the path of sparks and keep a
sufficient distance.
• Do not sand near flammable materials.
• Close unused suction connection openings with the plate.
15.2 Handling
Carry out a test run
Carry out a test run after installation.
Switch on the machine. Listen for abnormal noises. The machine should run smoothly with little or
no vibration or rubbing noises. Switch the machine off immediately if there are any unusual noises.
Eliminate the cause of the vibrations or noises before continuing work.
Switch the machine on and off
Switch on
• Press the switch-on button (1).
NOTE: Wait until the machine has reached full speed before you start
sanding.
Switch off
• Press the switch-off button (2).
Switch off in dangerous situations
• In dangerous situations, press the emergency stop button (3). The
sanding belt movement stops and the machine switches off.
NOTE: Before switching on after an emergency stop, unlock the
emergency stop switch.
