Before each start-up, make sure that the safety devices are in perfect condition and
function properly.
Check all connections for tightness at least once a week.
Regularly check that the warning and safety labels on the machine are in perfect and
legible condition.
Use only proper and suitable tools.
Only use original spare parts recommended by the manufacturer.
20.1 Inspection and maintenance plan
The type and degree of machine wear depends to a large extent on the operating conditions. The
following intervals apply when the machine is used within the specified limits:

20.1.1 Adjusting the taper gibs
Too much play in the guideways can be reduced by adjusting the taper gibs. To adjust, turn the
adjustment screw clockwise. This pushes the taper gibs backwards and reduces the clearance of
the respective guideway.
