3. Wipe away any rinse aid which has spilt
immediately so that you don’t compro-
mise the rinsing results and to avoid in-
creased foaming.
4. Close the rinse aid dispenser cover again.
Changing the rinse aid dose
We would recommend that you do not change
the dosage that was set by the factory initially.
If the dishes are
– matt and stained after cleaning, increase
the dose.
– sticky and streaky, you should decrease
the dose.
Do not allow more than 1 minute to elapse
between the following steps, otherwise the
setting process will be interrupted.

1. Close the appliance door and switch on
the appliance with the button (1) .
2. Press the
button (2) for 5 seconds with-
in 60 seconds of switching on the appli-
ance.
3. Push the button (3) to switch to setting
mode.
The indicator
and the current value

) flash on the display (11).
4. Press the button repeatedly until the
dose required is displayed (
d1
= low,
d6 =
high).
5. Around 5 seconds after you push it for the
last time, the appliance will automatically
revert to the normal display. Alternatively,
you can press the
button.
The selected dose setting is saved.
Adding dishwasher salt
Dishwasher salt is a special salt designed to
reduce water hardness. This helps prevent
limescale deposits in the appliance and on
dishes.
NOTICE
Risk of damage to property!
You may damage the appliance, its
stainless steel surface, its seals and fil
-
ters by using dishwasher salt in an im-
proper manner.
■ Only use dishwasher salt which is suit
-
able for dishwashers.
■ Always wipe away split dishwasher
salt immediately with a damp cloth.
■ Immediately after adding the dish
-
washer salt, launch a dishwashing
programme.
You do not need to add dishwasher
salt to the dishwasher salt dispenser
– if you are only using multitabs which al-
ready contain dishwasher salt,
– if the water hardness in your area is in the
0–5 °dH range.
