• Do not modify the product in any way.Doing so voids the warranty.

• Keep the packaging material out of the reach of children due to the risk

of suffocation.

• Dispose of packaging material immediately in accordance with the locally

applicable disposal regulations.

• Route all cables so that thereisnorisk of tripping.

• Do not bend or crush the cable.

• Only use the article under moderate climatic conditions.

• Do not spray ammable materials, such as insecticides or fragrances, around

or into the device. Also, do not use it to spread these or other substances.

• Do not operate the device in places contaminated by chemical agents,

poisons, smoke, oil or explosive and other gases.

• Do not use the device near gas-reddevices, such as gas boilers, heaters or

open replaces.

• The device cannot be used as acleaning device after re or chemical

accidents.

• Do not cover the ventilation openings of the product and ensuresucient

ventilation of the product to avoid overheating! Firehazard!

• The lateral distance to other objects should be at least 20cm and above the

device at least 30cm.

• Do not place any objects on the device and never use it as arestingsurface.

• Do not insert any objects into the device through the air inlet or outlet.

• The air purier is not asubstitute for regular ventilation or vacuum cleaning.

• Do not use the device as asubstitute for an extractor hood or other

ventilation during cooking.

• Only set up the device in adry,stable, level and horizontal location.

• Do not move the device during operation and avoid all shocks or impacts

to the device.

• Disconnect the device from the mains beforechanging its location.

• Disconnect the product from the mains beforechanging lters, cleaning and

maintenance work.

• Do not sit or stand on the device.

• Only use original Hama lters, item No. 00186440, as these guarantee the

appropriate lter effects and do not cause any damage due to incorrect air

resistance.

• Dispose of used lters with household waste.

• The device cannot remove carbon monoxide (CO) or radon (Rn) from the air.

• The device is intended for domestic use only under normal operating

conditions. Do not operate if thereare strongly uctuating temperature

differences.

• Do not use it in ahumid environment or in rooms with high ambient

temperatureorhumidity,e.g. in the bathroom, toilet or kitchen.

• Close windows and doors when operating the device to effectively clean

the room air.

Risk of electric shock

• Do not open the device or continue to operate it if it becomes damaged.

• Do not use the product if the

AC adapter,the adapter cable or the mains cable aredamaged.

• Do not attempt to service or repair the product yourself.Leave any and

all service work to qualied experts.

The principle of air purification

• Afan in the device draws in room air via the air inlets (5).

• The pre-lter is located at the top of the lter system for the initial ltration

of impurities. Larger particles such as dandruff,hair and dust are ltered

out.

• Afterwards, the sucked-in air ows through the Hepa 13 lter.The

abbreviation HEPAstands for "High Eciency Particulate Air". The HEPA

lter consists of avery ne brematerial. It has the ability to capturethe

smallest particles down to asize of between 0.1 to 0.3 μm, achieving a

separation eciency of 99.95%. Thus, it can remove bacteria

(0.6 to 1.0 μm); lter ne dust (0.1 -10μm) and pollen (10 -100 μm) from

the air.

• The air then ows through an activated charcoal lter.Itlters out

formaldehyde, benzene, other gases and unpleasant odours. Activated

charcoal has an excellent absorption capacity.Itcan deodorise, dehumidify

and in some cases trap viruses and have asterilising effect.

• The ltered air is discharged into the room at the air outlet.

6. Start-up and operation

6.1 Inserting/changing the filter

Warning

• Make surethat the product is disconnected from the mains.

• Since the lter contains all the collected pollutants, it should only

be changed outdoors and with appropriate careagainst contact

contamination (gloves/respiratory protection).

• The lter must be inserted beforethe rst start-up.

• Lay the air purier on its side.

• Turn the base plate aquarter turn anticlockwise. The base plate can be

removed. (Fig. 1)

• Remove the used lter,ifany,and dispose of it in your household waste.

(Fig. 2)

• Remove the new lter from the protective packaging (Fig. 3) and insert it

into the device. (Fig. 4)

• Now reinsert the base plate into the latching lugs. Turn the base plate

clockwise to tighten. (Fig. 5)

7. Switching the device on/off

Warning

• Only operate the product from an approved socket that is connected

to the public power supply.The socket must be installed close to the

product and must be easily accessible.

• Disconnect the product from the power supply using the On/Off switch –

if this is not available, unplug the power cordfromthe socket.

• If using amulti-socket power strip, make surethat the total power

consumption of all connected devices does not exceed the power strip's

maximum throughput rating.

• If you will not be using the product for aprolonged period, disconnect it

from mains power.
