Error search
If an error (e.g. Syntax ERROR) is displayed, you can have
this error displayed.
• Press the ← or → keys if an error message occurs. Your
entry will be displayed. The cursor will flash in the place
that led to the error.
Accuracy
For a single calculation operation, the rounding error
amounts to +/-1 for the 10th digit. In the case of an
exponential display, the most significant digit it rounded
off. Rounding errors are added in cumulated calculations.
Thus, the rounding error can increase. The rounding error
can be greater near a singular point of a function or an
inflexion point.
7.4 Specifying decimals and significant digits
You can specify the number of decimal points and
significant digits as well as for the normal display.
• Rounding always takes place on the last decimal point
you specified.
• The result in the memory can differ from the result that
is displayed. Press SHIFT Rnd to calculate using the
rounded intermediate results.
1. To switch the display, repeatedly press the MODE key
until you see the following display.
2. Press 1, 2 or 3. The display will show:
- Fix 1: fixed number of decimal numbers (0-9)
- Sci 2: fixed number of significant digits (0-9)
- Norm 3: Exponential display
