Audio Connections
Audio works in both unicast and multicast modes. The only difference between the two
modes is that the Line In port is automatically disabled on all Receiver units in multicast
mode. To illustrate how audio works with the 4K Ultra HD HDMI & USB-C KVM over IP,
we will set up headphones or powered speakers.
1. Connect a 3.5mm mini-stereo cable from the Line In port on the Sender unit to the
Line Out port on the computer.

2. Connect the Line Out port to powered speakers or a pair of headphones.
Receiver unit
Connect to headphones or powered speakers
Important: The Line In port on the Sender requires line level audio output, and certain
microphones will require a pre-amp connected inline to be compatible. Alternately, you
can use a USB mic connected to one of the USB 2.0 ports on the Receiver.
3. Connect a TOSLINK cable from the audio source (such as a TV) to the Opt In port on
the Receiver.

4. Connect a TOSLINK cable from the Opt Out port on the Sender to the Optical Digital
Input of an AV receiver or amplier.
