1.3 OPERATIONAL SAFETY
• Do not operate or perform maintenance on this platform when mentally or physically
fatigued or after consuming alcohol, drugs, or medications that may impair safe operator
judgment.
• The platform is for security and surveillance purposes only. Do not use the platform for
anything that would compromise the safety or personnel or of the platform.
• Only trained personnel should install, replace, or service SkyWatch system equipment.
FLIR is not responsible for injury or damage resulting from non-standard equipment
installations or modifications added to the platform by anyone other than FLIR factory
authorized personnel.
• Before operating your SkyWatch tower, read this operator guide to become familiar with it
and with your equipment. Safe and efficient operation can be achieved only if the
equipment is properly operated and maintained.
• Fuels, electrical equipment, batteries, exhaust fumes and moving parts present potential
hazards that could result in serious personal injury. Take care in following these
recommended procedures. Be sure to review the hazards found in each of the accessory
equipment owners’ manuals in addition to this section. These manuals are included on
your Technical Reference CD.
1.4 MECHANICAL SAFETY
Fuel, electrical equipment, batteries, exhaust fumes and moving parts present potential hazards
that could result in serious personal injury.
STABILITY
• Only raise platform on a firm, fairly level surface free from obstructions and holes. Deploy
the platform on firm ground.
• Do not set up the platform in standing water or in an area subject to the retention of
standing water
• Level the platform per the instructions.
MOVING PARTS
• Do not stand on the platform when raising or lowering the officer’s compartment.
• Keep hands away from any moving parts or pinch points such as enclosure door hinges
and locking mechanisms.
