Raceway mounting
The NBP EU models can be mounted in a cable raceway..
NOTE: You may need to insert the Extron-provided spacer
between the raceway and the mounting bracket to close a
gap between the mounting bracket and wall plate to make the
installation flush and secure. See the diagram at right.
The spacer looks like the mounting bracket, but has “Optional
Spacer” and “Place behind bracket” stamped into its surface.
The spacer also has a slightly larger center opening than the
mounting bracket does and it has holes instead of slots..
1. Run cables to the raceway where the junction box will be.
2. Mount an EU junction box to the raceway (see gure 14,

)
following the instructions provided by the box manufacturer.
3. If required, install a spacer (see

), aligning the screw holes with
the holes in the junction box.
4. Hold the mounting bracket with the desired side facing you and align the holes in the mounting bracket (

with the holes in the spacer and the junction box or external wall box.
• To install the NBP EU securely so it cannot easily be removed after installation, hold and install the
bracket so that the side labeled “Front” faces out toward you and the unlabeled side faces the wall or
furniture.
• To install the NBP EU so it can be removed easily, hold and install the bracket so the unlabeled side faces
outward toward you and the side labeled “Front” faces the wall or furniture.
5. Fasten the mounting bracket and spacer to
the junction box using the two provided
screws (

). Leave the screw heads
protruding approximately 1/8 inch (3.18
mm) from the surface of the spacer.
Ensure that the bracket is oriented
correctly so the NBP will be mounted
upright. Rotate the bracket, if
necessary.
6. Tighten the screws to secure the
bracket and spacer to the junction box.
7. Disconnect power from all devices
at the source and run the network
cable through the raceway, junction
box, spacer, mounting bracket, and
wallplate. Terminate the cable, if that
has not been done already.
8. Connect the cable to the rear panel
connector on the NBP (see Step 4:
Cable All Devices on page 21).
