EU Model Site Preparation
The NBP EU models t a standard one-gang EU wall (junction) box, Extron Flex55 enclosure, or external wall box
that that accepts 55 mm x 55 mm modules. These models may not t in all in-wall junction boxes, so check the t
prior to installation. The installer must provide the box. Read any installation instructions and regulatory guidelines
that come with the wall box before installation.
Wall box and direct mounting
1. For installation into a wall or furniture: Measure, mark, and carefully cut a hole in the mounting surface.
• If using a wall box, use the box as the reference for what size hole to cut.
• If mounting directly to the mounting surface, use the following hole size:
114.3 mm W x 50.8 mm H (4.50 inches W x 2.00 inches H).
For all types of installations: Run cables to the junction box and secure the cables with a clamp.
2. Secure the box to the stud, wall, or furniture.
3. Attach the mounting bracket (metal) to the junction box or external wall box.
a. Hold the mounting bracket with the desired side facing you and feed the cables through the bracket.
• To install the NBP EU securely so it cannot easily be removed after installation, hold and install the
bracket so that the side labeled “Front” faces out toward you and the unlabeled side faces the wall or
furniture.
• To install the NBP EU so it can be removed easily, hold and install the bracket so the unlabeled side
faces outward toward you and the side labeled “Front” faces the wall or furniture.

b. Keeping the bracket level, insert the provided screws through the holes in the bracket, into the threaded
holes on the box, and tighten the screws to secure the bracket to the mounting surface.
NOTE: To remove the unit from the wallplate after installation, see Removing the NBP EU from the
Mounting Surface on page 60.
