This section describes basic procedures for setting up the MLC using the MLC 55, 62
and 64 Series Configuration Program. The following topics are covered:

About the MLC 55, 62 and 64 Configuration Program
An MLC controller must be configured in order for it to be able to control other devices.
The Extron MLC 55, 62 and 64 Series Configuration Program is used to set up the MLC
front panel buttons and rear panel ports and to update firmware. Using this program, you
can create configurations on your computer for your MLC and then upload them to the MLC
via the front panel USB port. (The MLC does not have to be connected to the computer
while you are creating the configurations.) See Installation and Operation, beginning
on page 5, for pin assignments and other details on the configuration ports. See the
configuration program help file to create and upload the configurations.
Computer System Requirements
The minimum system requirements for the computer on which you install the MLC
configuration program include:
• Processor: Intel Pentium III processor (1 GHz).
• Operating System:
• Windows 8.1 and higher
• Windows 7 (64 bit)
• Microsoft.NET Framework 4.0
• Hard Disk: 50 MB available
• RAM: 512 MB
• Display: 1280x768 minimum resolution. Graphics hardware acceleration requires a
DirectX 10 graphics card.
