Installation Overview
ATTENTION:
• Installation and service must be performed by authorized personnel only.
• L’installation et l’entretien doivent être effectués uniquement par un électricien
qualifié.
• All electrical installation should be performed by qualified personnel in accordance
with local and national building codes, fire and safety codes, and local and
national electrical codes.
• Toute installation électrique devrait être effectuée par un personnel qualifié,

codes électriques locaux et nationaux.
1. Prepare the installation site as follows:
a. Measure and cut the hole for the MLC in the mounting surface.
b. Install the junction box (see the instructions provided with the box) or mud ring
(US models only, see Mounting an MLC 55 RS or MLC 55 RS VC to a Mud
Ring on page 24).
c. Prepare and pull the cables through the junction box or mud ring.
2. (Optional) Make any desired changes to the labels in the buttons installed in the
faceplate (see Replacing Button Labels on page 18).
