6 Safety - ENGLISH
WARNING!
• The product must be installed or maintained by a qualified technician who follows the manufacturer's
instructions and local safety regulations.
• The manufacturer is not responsible for any damage that might be caused by the use of a product with a
faulty ground connection.
• Make sure there is a good isolating switch in the permanent wiring that completely cuts off the power
supply from the electricity network. The switch must be installed in a way that follows local wiring rules
and regulations.
• To meet current safety regulations, use a standard switch for the installation that disconnects the network
completely during overvoltage situations.
• Make sure that the isolating switch is easy to reach after the hob is installed.
• Do not plug in the product until the installation is complete.
• The power cord must be plugged into a grounded power outlet.
• Do not use multiple sockets or extensions.
• To connect the hob to the mains power supply, do not use adapters, reducers, or branching devices.
They may cause overheating and fire.
• The power cord must be long enough to reach the power outlet.
• The power cord must not touch any hot parts and must be positioned so it does not get hotter than 75 °C
at any point.
• If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly
qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
• Before installing the product, check for any externally visible damage. Do not install or use a damaged
product. Contact the retailer from which you purchased the product.
• Make sure the connection parameters of the product (fuse rating, voltage and frequency) match the
mains power supply. If in any doubt, consult a qualified electrician.
• If the product is connected directly to the mains, an omnipolar circuit breaker must be installed with a
minimum gap of 3 mm between the contacts.
WARNING!
• The safety distance between the sides of the hob and the inner surfaces of the worktop should be at
least 3 mm.
• The safety distance between the hob and the cupboard above it should be at least 600 mm.
• Make sure the induction hob is well ventilated and that air inlet and outlet are not blocked. To avoid
accidental touching the overheating bottom of the hob or getting unexpectable electric shock while using
it, it is necessary to put a wooden insert, fixed by screws, at a minimum distance of 20 mm from the
bottom of the hob. For optimal performance, the recommended air gap distance is at least 50 mm.
The minimum required air gap distance is 20 mm.
• Make sure that there is a good flow of fresh air from outside the cabinetry to the bottom of the hob.
• If the hob is installed above a drawer or cupboard space, make sure there is a thermal protection barrier
below the bottom of the hob.
• Make sure that the ventilation holes around the outside of the hob are not blocked by the worktop when
you put the hob in place.
WARNING!
• Make sure that the work surface is square and level, and no structural parts interfere with space
requirements.
• Do not install the hob above an oven if the oven does not have a built-in cooling fan.
• Make sure that the isolating switch is of an approved type and provide a 3 mm air gap contact
separation in all poles (or in all active phase conductors if the local wiring rules allow for this variation of
the requirements).
• If you are unsure about the installation, you should ask the local building authorities and look at the
by-laws.
• Make sure that the wall surfaces around the hob are heat-resistant and easy to clean (for example, use
ceramic tiles).
• Only a qualified electrician should make changes to the domestic wiring system.
