1. POWER Switch is used to turn the device on and o. To turn the device o, press POWER and then
press [YES] or press POWER twice. Ensure the device is fully powered o (all the leds and backlight are
turned o) before you remove the USB power cable.
2. USB 2 For connecting a power supply to Tonverk. Use the included PSU-5 power adapter, connected to
a power outlet. Make sure to use the fastening screws to secure the USB cable to the device.
3. USB 1 For connecting to a computer to transfer audio, MIDI, and files. Use the included USB-C to USB-C
connector cable to connect to a computer host.
4. SD card reader. The recommended minimum card size is 2 GB, and it must be formatted to exFAT. The
write-protect switch on the SD card must be set to OFF if you want to write to the card.
5. Kensington Security Slot. For connecting a Kensington lock and cable.
6. MIDI THRU Forwards data from MIDI IN. Use a standard MIDI cable to connect another MIDI device.
7. MIDI OUT MIDI data output. Use a standard MIDI cable to connect to the MIDI In of an external MIDI device.
8. MIDI IN, MIDI data input. Use a standard MIDI cable to connect to the MIDI Out of an external MIDI device.
9. IN A/B, These audio inputs are used for processing audio from external sources and for sampling exter-
nal audio. Use either 1/4” (Tip/Ring/Sleeve) phone plugs (balanced connection) or 1/4” mono phone plugs
(unbalanced connection).
10. OUT C/D, Audio outputs. Use either a 1/4” (Tip/Ring/Sleeve) phone plug (balanced connection) or a 1/4”
mono phone plug (unbalanced connection).
11. OUT A/B, Main audio outputs. Use either a 1/4” (Tip/Ring/Sleeve) phone plug (balanced connection) or a
1/4” mono phone plug (unbalanced connection).
12. OUT E/F (HEADPHONES), Audio output for stereo headphones and other audio equipment. Use 1/4”
Tip/Ring/Sleeve phone plug for headphones. You can also use a splitter cable with 1/4” Tip/Ring/Sleeve
phone plug to two 1/4” mono phone plugs.
If the device becomes unresponsive, you can force it to turn o by pressing and holding the
POWER button until the device turns o. Please note that unsaved work might be lost.
3.3 SETTING UP AND STARTING TONVERK
Place Tonverk on a stable support, such as a sturdy table, with sucient space for the cables. Make sure to
switch o all devices before you connect Tonverk to other devices.
1. Plug the supplied DC adapter into a power outlet and connect the USB plug to the USB 2 connector on
Tonverk.
2. Connect OUT A/B from Tonverk to your mixer, amplifier, or use headphones plugged into the HEAD-
PHONES jack.
3. To control Tonverk from a computer, connect a USB cable between the computer and the USB 1 connec-
tor on Tonverk.
4. To use MIDI to control Tonverk, connect the MIDI OUT port of the device you wish to send data from to
the MIDI IN port of Tonverk. If you want to use Tonverk to control other devices, connect the MIDI OUT
port of Tonverk to the MIDI IN port of the device you want to control.
5. Connect an audio source to IN A/B or via USB to process audio from external sources.
6. Switch on all units. Press the POWER switch located at the back of Tonverk to switch it on.
