9. Tilt the machine head forward to erect it and insert it into
the slot in the tabletop.
Proper setting
If assembled correctly, the locking mechanism will engage when
the machine is tilted back all the way, keeping the machine from
tilting up inadvertently in the tabletop cut-out.
To check for proper operation:
1. Tilt the machine down ( p. 182).
2. Try carefully to tilt the machine head up without pressing
the lever below the tabletop.
Ensure that your hands are not jammed.
If the locking mechanism is engaged correctly, the machine
head cannot be erected without pressing the lever below
the tabletop.
