Function of the trimming and clamping device for the needle
threads
The cylinder of the trimming and clamping device is switched on following
the seam end and during transport to the corner knives.
The thread catcher (2) drops down and picks up the needle threads.
The thread catcher (2) shoots up after a preset distance.
The needle threads are clamped at the clamping plate (3) and cut off
by the knife (1).
The clamped needle threads are released after the first few stitches of
the next seam. The elastic clamping plate (3) causes the thread
catcher (2) to abut flat on the knife (1). This sets the knife automatically
to the cutting position.
