4.12.1 Adjusting the needle thread tension

To adjust the needle thread tension:
1. Set needle thread tension so that the desired seam pattern is
achieved ( p. 35).
2. Adjust the main tension of the needle threads:
• using the knurled nut for the right needle thread (3)
• using the knurled nut for the left needle thread (2)
Needle thread tension:
• Increase the needle thread tension:
turn clockwise
• Reduce the needle thread tension:
turn counterclockwise
(1) - Identical needle thread and hook thread tension
(2) - Hook thread tension higher than needle thread tension
(3) - Needle thread tension higher than hook thread tension
(1) - Additional needle thread tension - left
(2) - Knurled nut for the left needle thread
(3) - Knurled nut for the right needle thread
(4) - Additional needle thread tension - right
