5. Health and Safety Information
Important: Read all the Health and Safety instructions
before attempting to operate, maintain or repair this
product. Failure to follow these instructions may result in
injury or damage to the user, the product or the vehicle.
5.1 General Health and Safety Precautions
– DO NOT exceed the stated capacity of this
support stand.
– ALWAYS USE THE STANDS IN PAIRS and ensure
that adequate number of stands are used to
support and stabilise the vehicle before starting
repairs.
– Use on a stable, hard level surface capable of
supporting the load.
– Make sure that each stand is securely located under
a strong lifting point on the vehicle, consult the
vehicle manufacturer’s handbook for guidance.
– The load must be placed in the centre of the saddle.
• This support stand has been designed for use when
supporting under vehicle components and not the
vehicle itself. Any other application, beyond the
conditions established for use of this support stand
will be considered inappropriate.
• Always inspect the support stand prior to any use. Do
not use the support stand if any of the components
are missing, broken, bent or cracked.
• The stand should be inspected by qualied persons if
it has been subjected to an abnormal load or shock.
• Only fully trained competent persons should operate
the support stand having read carefully and
understood the contents of this manual.
• Do not modify the support stand in any way.
• Only use attachments and adaptors supplied with the
product.
• Care must be taken when handling this equipment.
Dropping this stand may cause damage to it and may
also result in personal injury.
• Always wear adequate protective footwear and eye
protection when using the stand.
• Always ensure that the working area is well
illuminated and free from obstructions.
• Keep bystanders at a safe distance during operation.
• IMPORTANT: the stand is rated singly, used in pairs
they can support twice the rated load.
• WARNING! Take care to ensure the vehicle is lowered
slowly and carefully onto the centre of the saddle.
• Secure the wheels with chocks before using the stand.
• DO NOT start the vehicle engine while support on the
stands.
• DO NOT apply horizontal forces or large torque loads
to the vehicle while support by the stands.
• CAUTION! The stand has a spring assisted centre
column so take care as follow:
– Always ensure the height setting pin is fully
inserted and locked in place before using the stand.
– Always adjust the height with the saddle in the
lowest position.
– Always apply light pressure to the top of the
column when releasing the height setting pin.
5.2 Residual Risk
The safety instructions in this manual cannot account for all
possible conditions and situations that may occur. Exercise
common sense and caution when using this product and
protect against any additional conceivable risks.
