7 Before Initial Operation
Free Speed Check
Ensure the abrasive is removed before conducting the
free speed check.
With a measured air pressure of 6.2 bar (90 psi), ver-
ify that the tool's speed does not exceed the maxi-
mum speed indicated on the tool's label.
If the label is unreadable, contact the manufacturer for
a replacement label.
Perform free speed checks daily.
Return the tool for repair if it is operating above the
specified speed.
Abrasive check
equal to or greater than the maximum speed indicated
on the tool.
Always disconnect the air supply before changing the
abrasive or adjusting the tool.
Inspect the abrasive for any damage prior to use.
Ensure the abrasive has the correct dimensions and
is properly secured to prevent unbalanced vibrations.
Immediately remove and replace any damaged abra-
sives.
8 Operation
Set the airline lubrication to a minimum to reduce en-
vironmental contamination from exhaust air.
Ensure the work area is well-ventilated.
Always allow the tool to stop before relocating to an-
other area.
Immediately discontinue use if abnormal noise or ex-
cessive vibrations are detected.
Do not modify the tool or its accessories in any way.
9 Maintenance
Maintenance is only permitted by Apex Tool Group author-
ized personnel. Regular maintenance reduces operational
interruptions, repair costs and downtimes. Therefore, im-
plement a safety-related maintenance program that takes
into account the local regulations for repair and mainte-
nance for all the operating phases of the tool.
