HEPA Filter Fitting and Checking the Respirator
Ensure that the high efficiency particulate
(HEPA) filter is installed correctly as
shown in
Figure 6.
When fitting the filter element into the
filter housing, observe that the filter label
faces upwards as worn.
Then applying firm pressure, click to
engage the filter housing with the two
filter latches.
If a pre-filter (DXPGPF or DXPGONPF) is to be used, ensure this is positioned inside the filter
housing prior to fitting the HEPA filter. More information in section ‘High Efficiency Particulate
Air Filter Replacement’ on page 30.
Correct positions of filters:
1. Housing
2. Spark arrestor (DXPGB2WD21 only)
3. Odour / Pre-filter
4. HEPA filter
If spark arrester is to be used (DXPGB2WD21 only), ensure that it is fitted before the pre-filters
as shown in Figure 7. Use only 1 spark arrestor.
A spark arrestor may be used with the filter alone, or along with either pre-filter. Locate the
spark arrestor the furthest upstream (closest to the filter cover) of the filter.
Check that the air inlet is clean and free from any
obstructions. (Figure 8)
