Accessories
WARNING: Since accessories, other than those offered by
DeWALT, have not been tested with this product, use of such

Cleaning
WARNING: Blo
w dirt and dust out of all air vents with
clean, dry air at least once a week. To minimize the risk of eye
injury, always wear ANSI Z87.1 approved eye protection when
perform
ing thisprocedure.
WARNING:
Never use solvents or other harsh chemicals
for cleaning the non‑metallic parts of the tool. These chemicals
may weaken the plastic materials used in these parts. Use a
cloth dampened only with water and mild soap. Never let any
liquid get inside the tool; never immerse any part of the tool into
aliquid.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal
injury, turn unit off and remove the battery pack
before making any adjustments or removing/installing
attachments or accessories. An accidental start‑up can
causeinjury.
Your DeWALT power tool has been designed to operate
over a long period of time with minimum maintenance.
Continuous satisfactory operation depends upon proper tool
care and regularcleaning.
NOTE: When cutting overhead, always confirm workpiece is
secure before cutting and be sure the excess copper tubing
that is cut does not create ahazard.
NOTICE: The copper tubing cutter could stall during a cut
either as a result of a depleted battery pack, or as a result of
cutting a material too hard or too large. Should the unit stop
during the cut for any reason, put the control button in reverse
position (left side) and pull the trigger switch to open the cutter
jaws and remove thematerial.
NOTICE: Do not cut off pieces of tubing less than 1" long. Small
pieces can be pulled into moving carriage and damagetool.
WARNING: Remove the battery before attempting to remove
any small pieces remaining in the cuttingarea.
Cutting (Fig. A, M, N)
WARNING: To reduce the risk of injury,
• Do not cut short pieces of copper tubing that put
fingers near movingparts.
• ALWAYS wear ANSI Z87.1 eye protection (CAN/CSA
Z94.3).
• Blade is sharp. Keep hands away from cutting edges
and moving parts. Laceration and amputation canoccur.
1. Mark desired cutting point on the workpiece

2. Select the open position by depressing the directional
button

to the right side of thetool. The cutting head

will clutch out in the open position. Once the cutting head is
in the open position, release the triggerswitch.
3. Align the cutting wheel

and indicators to the mark on
thematerial.
4. Insert the workpiece squarely into the jaws until it locks in
place between the rollers (Fig. M).
CAUTION: Do not attempt to make angled cuts as it will
damage the workpiece and cutting wheel. Fig. N illustrates
improper alignment of theworkpiece.
5. Select the cutting direction by depressing the directional
button

to the left side of the tool. Push the trigger lock-off
lever

toward the back of the tool, then depress the trigger
switch

tocut.
6. When the cut is complete, release thetrigger.
LED Worklights (Fig. A)
The LED worklight switch

is located on the foot of the
tool. The internal worklight
11
and external worklight

are activated when the trigger is depressed. The Off, On, and
20minute modes can be changed by sliding the worklight
switch

on the foot of the tool. If the trigger switch
remains depressed, the worklight will remain on in On and
20minutemodes.
When in the On setting, the beam will automatically turn off
20seconds after the trigger switch isreleased.
20Minute Mode
The high setting is the 20minute mode. The worklights will
run for 20minutes after the trigger switch is released. Two
minutes before the worklights shut off, it will flash twice and
then dim. To avoid the worklights shutting off, lightly tap the
triggerswitch.
WARNING: While using the worklights in On or
20minute mode, do not stare at the light or place the
drill in a position which may cause anyone to stare into
the light. Serious eye injury couldresult.
CAUTION: When using the tool as a worklight, be sure it is
secured on a stable surface where it will not cause a tripping or
fallinghazard.
A directional button

the cutting wheel

and also serves as a lock-offbutton.
• To select the open position, release the trigger switch and
depress the directional button

to the right side of thetool.
• To select the the cutting direction, release the trigger
switch and depress the directional button

to the left side
of thetool.
NOTE: The center position of the directional button locks the
tool in the off position. When changing the position of the
directional button, be sure the trigger

isreleased.
Belt Hook (Fig. O)
Optional Accessory
WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal
injury, turn tool off and disconnect battery pack before
making any adjustments or removing/installing
attachments oraccessories.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal
injury, DO NOT suspend tool overhead or suspend
objects from the belt hook. ONLY hang tool’s belt hook
from a workbelt.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal
injury, ensure the screw holding the belt hook issecure.
