Dry cleaning
Unlock the latches (Fig. A, 16) and remove the top cover. Place the spoil
bag on the spigot inside the dirt tank, press down carefully. Check the
seal. Replace the top cover and close with the latches.
Wet cleaning
For wet cleaning, do not use the spoil bag. Dirt will collect in the hopper.
Attaching the cleaning hose and nozzles
Push the end of the flexible hose (fig. A, 12) into the socket (fig. A, 20)
and rotate it - to lock it in place - attach the telescopic tube (fig. A, 2) to
the hose. Place a suitable cleaning tip (flat tip, slotted tip) on the end of
the tube.
Connecting the plaster grinder
The hoover is equipped with an automatic shaker, making it an efficient
device for extracting the sanding spoil generated during sanding when
the sander is connected to gypsum surfaces. To connect the sander to
the hoover, it is necessary to: remove the nozzles from the hoover hose
and the sander, fit the end from the sander onto the hoover hose.
Procedure (Fig. B):
1. with a flat, narrow tool (e.g. screwdriver) push in the lock marked 1.
Pull the tip vigorously off the ring with the lock (2).
2. an adapter is attached to the grinder. Apply the adapter so that the
holes in the tip coincide with the lock on the ring (3).
3. press the tip until you hear the locks snap into place. Ensure that the
tip is correctly applied and that the locks in both holes are closed (4).
It is also possible, with a tight fit, to use the diameter reducer supplied
with the hoover. However, a tighter connection is achieved when
replacing the nozzle on the hoover hose.
Connecting the pneumatic appliance (DED6609P only)
1. connect the compressor to the input socket on the back of the hoover.
2. use the cord to connect the pnemuatic device:
(a) Connect the suction line to the hoover socket (fig. A, 20).
b) Connect the pressure hose to the pneumatic socket (fig. D, 5).
c) Connect the pneumatic appliance
d) If the pneumatic device is equipped with a spigot for extracting
excavated material, connect the end of the suction hose to the pneumatic
tool
e) Switch on the compressor
7. Connection to the mains
Before connecting the appliance to the power supply, ensure that the
supply voltage corresponds to the value indicated on the rating plate.
The power supply installation should comply with the essential
requirements for electrical installations and meet the safety requirements
for use. The parameters for the minimum cross-section of the supply
cable and the nominal value of the fuse, depending on the power of the
appliance, are given in the table below:
Unit power [W]
Minimum conductor
cross-section [mm2]
Minimum fuse type C
[A]
≥2300
2,5
16
The installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician. When
using extension cables, ensure that the conductor cross-section is not
smaller than required (see table). Arrange the electrical cable so that it is
not at risk of being cut during operation. Do not use damaged extension
cords. Periodically check the condition of the power supply cable. Do not
pull on the power cable.
8. Switching on the device
Before starting up the unit, it is essential to carry
out the steps described in the section ‘Preparing
for operation’.
Switching on the hoover and setting the operating mode is carried out by
a knob, located on the panel of the hoover. The functionality of the knob
is the same for both models (DED6609 and DED6609P).
By default, the knob should be set to the OFF (hoover off) position.
Turning the hoover on is done by moving the knob to the correct position:
- M - vacuuming function only
- M & Clean - function of the hoover with automatic filter cleaning
- Auto & Clean - function of operation with connected appliance and
automatic filter shaking (for the DED6609 - appliance connected to an
electrical socket, for the DED6609P to both an electrical and a pneumatic
socket).
- Auto - only function with appliance connected
Use the knob (fig. C/D, 3) to adjust the suction power. Turning clockwise
increases the suction power.
In the case of hoover operation with automatic filter shaking, the filter
shaker switches on every approx. 20 seconds and a characteristic sound
is heard during operation. This is not a product defect.
If the current drawn by the hoover + power tool combination is too high
(> 15 A), the fuse will trip and the hoover will switch off. To reset the fuse,
press and hold the button (Fig. C/D, 4) for approx. 1 s.
Remote control
A remote control is installed in the suction hose to control the hoover (fig.
F). Buttons 1 and 2 are used to increase or decrease the suction power,
button 3 switches the hoover on and off.
9. Operation of the device
When operating the device, all safety rules and
instructions described in the safety conditions
must be strictly observed..
Vacuuming
Use a flat brush for vacuuming flat surfaces. Use a crevice brush if dirt
needs to be removed from hard-to-reach areas.
When removing wet dirt, remove the collection bag from the container
(see section 6).
The hoover has a wet-motor protection. If the level of wet dirt is too high,
the unit will switch off automatically, preventing damage to the HEPA filter
and motor.
Connecting an additional electrical appliance to the hoover
The hoover has an additional socket to which a power tool or other
electrical device can be connected. The socket is located on the front
panel of the hoover. The minimum power of a device that can be
connected to the hoover is 300 W, the maximum is 2000 W. A hoover
with a connected appliance can only operate in synchronisation mode.
To start the hoover in synchronisation mode, connect an external device
and set the hoover switch to the ‘AUTO & CLEAN’ position. In
synchronisation mode, the hoover will not operate until the connected
appliance is switched on. Switching on the device will switch the hoover
on after approximately 5 seconds. When the appliance is switched off,
the hoover will continue to run for about 5 seconds and then switch off.
The synchronisation function is particularly useful when carrying out work
where it is necessary to remove waste on an ongoing basis (sanding
walls, drilling holes, cutting and planing wood, etc.).
Connecting a pneumatic appliance (DED6609P only)
The DED6609P hoover has additional sockets for connecting a
compressor and a pneumatic device (e.g. sander, polisher, etc.) The
method of connection is described in section 6 of the manual.
After connecting the compressor and the compressed air device, set the
hoover switch to the ‘AUTO & CLEAN’ position. In synchronisation mode,
the hoover will not run until the connected appliance is switched on.
Switching on the appliance will switch the hoover on after approximately
5 seconds. When the appliance is switched off, the hoover will continue
to run for about 5 seconds and then switch off.
When the pressure drops, the compressor will switch on, in the same
way as when operating a pneumatic device connected directly to the
compressor.
10. Ongoing maintenance
All maintenance must be carried out with the unit
unplugged.
Remove debris from the hopper frequently to avoid damage to the
hoover. To clean the inside of the hoover, remove the bag from the
spigot, then slide the plastic sealing strip off the bottom of the bag over
the bin or other waste container. Discard the dirt collected in the bag into
the waste container, shake out the bag thoroughly, replace the plastic
sealing strip. Discard the collected dirt from the hopper.
For wet running:
Empty, dry and clean the tank after each use. Cleaning and drying the
tank is particularly important, as rapid growth of bacteria and mould can
occur due to the presence of moisture and heat.
Cleaning the HEPA filter
Remove the upper body cover and turn it 180 degrees. Unlock the plastic
latches, lift the filter together with the frame. Remove filter from frame,
shake out thoroughly. If possible, blow out with compressed air. Replace
the filter.
Cleaning the housing
Clean the housing with a damp cloth. Do not use aggressive detergents.
Blow out the ventilation holes with compressed air.
Storage of the hoover
Store the cleaned, thoroughly dried hoover in the original box in a dry
place, out of the reach of children and bystanders.
