4.4. Connecting the Device to a Router
To make a LAN connection, it is necessary to connect the device to a router.
01) Plug one end of the network cable into an RJ45 connector on the router.01)
02) Plug the other end of the network cable into the RJ45 LAN connector IN (15) on the device.02)
Note:
If you use a network cable and the DHCP function on the router is activated, it is not necessary to configure
the network.

Connecting Audio Devices
On the front, the device has:
balanced microphone IN (XLR/jack combo) (06)
balanced auxiliary IN (mini jack) (12)
On the back, the device has:
unbalanced auxiliary IN (RCA - left/right) - (streaming module only) (14)
Speaker OUT (wire terminals - left/right - positive/negative) (18)
unbalanced recording OUT (RCA - left/right) (20)
4 x unbalanced line IN (RCA - left/right) (21)
unbalanced OUT (RCA - left/right) - (streaming module only) (24)
balanced OUT (wire terminals - left/right - positive/negative/ground) (25)
Turn off the PA-5500SA when connecting audio devices in order to avoid interference.
Use a suitable cable to connect a microphone to the balanced microphone IN (XLR/jack combo) (06).
Use a suitable cable to connect an auxiliary device (a phone, a tablet, a computer etc.) to the balanced
auxiliary IN (mini jack) (12).
Use a suitable cable to connect an auxiliary device (a phone, a tablet, a computer etc.) to the
unbalanced auxiliary IN (RCA - left/right) - (streaming module only) (14).
Use suitable cables to connect passive speakers to the Speaker OUT (wire terminals - left/right - positive/
negative) (18).
To connect cables to the Speaker OUT (wire terminals - left/right - positive/negative) (18):
01) Turn the screws on top of the Speaker OUT (wire terminals - left/right - positive/negative) (18) counter01)
clockwise to loosen them.
02) Insert the left positive cable wire into the left positive wire terminal.02)
03) Insert the left negative cable wire into the left negative wire terminal.03)
04) Insert the right positive cable wire into the right positive wire terminal.04)
05) Insert the right negative cable wire into the right negative wire terminal.05)
06) Turn the screws on top of the Speaker OUT (wire terminals - left/right - positive negative) (18) clockwise to06)
tighten them. Do not overtighten.
Use a suitable cable to connect a recording device to the unbalanced recording OUT (RCA - left/right)
(20).
Use suitable cables to connect up to 4 line-level devices (CD players, mixers etc.) to the 4 x unbalanced
line IN (RCA - left/right) (21).
Use suitable cables to connect an audio output device (a mixer etc.) to the unbalanced OUT (RCA - left/
right) - (streaming module only) (24), and balanced OUT (wire terminals - left/right - positive/negative/
ground) (25).
