has the same name as an existing room, a warning message will be
displayed and the room can be renamed, or the upload process can be
aborted. Once importation is complete, the new room will be added
to the list and immediately available for editing.
Note: When importing to a new Universal Device Controller, any
references to devices with different MAC addresses will be marked as
“Unknown Device” and will need to be manually corrected.
2) Add: To create a new room, click on the “+ Add” button and a window
will pop up allowing you to add a new empty room, or duplicate an
existing room. After entering the new room’s name, click “Add” and
the new room will be added to the list.
3) Edit Room: Click on any room name from the displayed list to edit the
room’s contents by opening the room management page.
4) Edit Room Name: The name of a room can be changed by clicking on
the associated edit icon ( ). After making changes to a name, please
click the “Save” button to store the changes.
5) Download Room: To download a room configuration to your PC,
click the download icon ( ) next to the room’s name in the list and
select the preferred save location on the local PC. Next, click the “Save”
button to complete the file export.
Note: The filename may be changed, if desired, but it MUST end with
“.room.json” in order to be re-imported.
6) Delete: To delete a room completely, click on the associated trash
icon (
) and then click “OK” to confirm to the deletion.
7) Room Management: After selecting a room to edit by clicking on
its name, the room management page will open. This page lists all
scenarios, commands, and automations currently used by the room
and provides a way to add, remove, reorder, or edit those functions.
