DECALCIFYING INSTRUCTIONS
Due to minerals in water, deposits may form on the base of the tank and cause discoloration.
The deposits are not dangerous to ingest, but they can aect the appearance and performance
of the urn. To get the best performance from your urn, decalcify it from time to time. How often
you decalcify your urn depends on the hardness of your water and how often you use the urn.
1. Fill the tank past the low water sensor (located toward the bottom of the pot) with equal
parts water and white vinegar. NOTE: For best results, use filtered, non-tap water for
cleaning.
2. Press the ON/OFF button to bring the water to a boil.
3. Be sure to run ample water through the urn's faucet to eliminate any mineral buildup there.
4. Unplug the unit, let the solution cool to room temperature, then discard the liquid.
5. Carefully rinse the interior with fresh water.
6. Bring fresh water to a boil in the urn. Be sure to run water though the urn's faucet to
rinse it.
7. Let remaining water in the tank cool, then discard.
8. Dry the urn thoroughly before storing.
