8. To place food on the urn, secure the included tray on top of the lid, then place the food on
top of the tray. Liquid foods like soup may be placed on the tray before Shabbos; dry foods
may be placed on Shabbos. CAUTION: Never wrap the tray entirely with foil.
9. During Yom Tov, the urn may be refilled as needed. The sophisticated algorithm initiated
when in Shabbos Mode is programmed to make it halachically permissible. CAUTION: Take
care when opening the lid to refill the water tank on Yom Tov as hot steam will escape, and
hot water may have accumulated on the inside of the lid, which can cause injury. Keep your
face and hands away from the opening, and allow the steam to dissipate before adding
cold water to the tank.
SAFETY FEATURES IN SHABBOS MODE
Boil Dry Protection
During Shabbos Mode, the low water warning will never be triggered. For your safety,
however, the unit will automatically activate Boil Dry Protection in the event that all the water
in the tank has evaporated. If this happens, the urn will automatically switch o. (There will be
no audible warning.) To reset the urn, it must be unplugged, water added, and plugged back in.
Please note that the unit will revert to the default Weekday Mode when plugged back in.
