Cleaning the detergent drawer
If there is a build-up of residual detergent or additives, or if the softener compartment is not
rinsed well enough, the drawer must be cleaned to avoid water overows due to blockages.
Fig. 17
1. Open the detergent drawer. Press down the tab (1) and pull the drawer (2) completely out
of the washing-machine housing.
2. Remove the liquid detergent cap (3) by holding it and pulling it upwards from the detergent
drawer.
3. Clean the lid and the drawer itself under running water. Lightly wipe o any remaining
detergent residue.
4. Replace the cap and reinsert the drawer back into place.
Tip: do not operate the appliance without the detergent drawer in place. If the appliance is not
in use, always keep the drawer closed.
Warning
Do not use alcohol, solvents, or chemical products.
You can use a soft brush to remove detergent residues adhering to the drawer.
Cleaning the mesh lter in the water supply hose and the water inlet valve
1. Close the tap (stopcock) and unscrew the water supply hose (Fig. 18).
2. Carefully clean the mesh lter at the end of the hose with a ne brush (Fig. 19).
3. Now unscrew the water supply hose at the back of the appliance by hand. Remove the
mesh lter from the water inlet valve at the back of the appliance with needle-nose pliers
(be careful not to damage it) and clean it carefully (Fig. 20).
4. Reinsert the mesh lter back into the back of the washing machine. Reconnect the water
supply hose to the tap and to the appliance. Do not use a tool to connect the inlet hose.
Open the water tap and check that all connections are tight (Fig. 21).
Cleaning the drain pump lter
WARNING: DANGER OF BURNS. Danger of skin injury from hot water!
Take special care when draining water from the appliance and opening the lid.
It is advisable to clean the lter of the drain pump from time to time to ensure that there are
no problems.
The pump of the appliance may become blocked with loose debris (remember to check the
drum and remove visible debris after each load). Fabrics that shed large amounts of lint can
also cause blockages.
