- Set the pattern selection knob to position A.
- Neaten the edge of the fabric. First, fold the edge of the fabric twice (approximately 0.3 cm) and stitch
4 or 5 times to secure. Pull the thread slightly towards the back. Stick the needle into the fabric, raise
the presser foot (1).
- To adjust the fabric, gently pull the edge towards you and lower the presser foot. Start sewing, pulling
the fabric inwards along the inside edge of the hem (2).
3-STEP ZIGZAG
This stitch is suitable for sewing lace and elastic, darning, mending, and reinforcing edges.
The most suitable settings for this stitch are as follows:
a. Stitch width 3 to 5.
b. Stitch length from 1 to 2.
c. Multipurpose presser foot
d. Stitch pattern C.
Set the pattern selection knob to position C.
Lay the fabric. The stitch length can be shortened to achieve close stitches (1).
When mending tears, it is advisable to use a piece of reinforcing fabric. The stitch density can be changed by
adjusting the stitch length. Sew through the centre rst and then overlap on both sides. Depending on the
type of damaged fabric, sew between 3 and 5 rows (2).
OTHER STITCHES
TRIPLE STRAIGHT STITCH: (1/3)
Set the pattern selection knob to position A.
For strong seams.
Turn the stitch length adjustment knob to position S1. The machine will sew two stitches forward
and one backwards. This will provide triple reinforcement.
TRIPLE ZIGZAG: (2/4)
Set the pattern selection knob to position B.
For strong seams, hems, and decorative seams.
Turn the stitch length adjustment knob to position S1. Set the stitch width adjustment knob to a
position between 3 and 5. The triple zigzag stitch is suitable for rm fabrics like denim, corduroy, etc.
SMOCK STITCH
This stitch is suitable for seams, hems, underwear, etc.
The most suitable settings for this stitch are as follows:
a. Stitch width 4 to 5.
b. Stitch length S1.
c. Multipurpose presser foot
d. Stitch pattern C.
- Set the pattern selection knob to position C.
- Turn the stitch length adjustment knob to position S1.
- Smock stitch can be used for all types of knitted fabrics, as well as for woven fabrics (1).
- Sew 1 cm from the edge of the fabric and trim the excess fabric (2).
SEWING WITH THE CORDING FOOT
This stitch is suitable for decorative eects, cushions, tablecloths, etc.
The most suitable settings for this stitch are as follows:
a. Stitch width 3 to 5.
b. Stitch length from 1 to 4.
c. Cording foot
d. Stitch pattern B.
NOTE: the cording foot is an optional accessory which is not included with the machine.
- There are several stitches that are suitable for sewing on cord, such as zigzag, triple zigzag or
decorative stitches.
- Insert the cord underneath the plate. Then, pass it through the slot until it is under the foot (1).
The cord must slide in the groove. You can sew one, two or three cords. The stitch width must be
set according to the number of cords and the selected stitch (2).
FREE MOTION DARNING
The most suitable settings for this stitch are as follows:
a. Stitch width 2.5.
b. Stitch length 0.
c. Darning/embroidery foot
d. Stitch pattern A.
NOTE: the darning foot is an optional accessory which is not included with the machine.
- Attach the embroidery plate (1).
- Remove the presser foot clamping piece (2).
- Attach the darning foot to the presser foot bar. The lever (A) must be behind the needle clamping screw
(B). Press the darning foot rmly from behind with your index nger and tighten the screw (C) (3).
- Sew around the edge of the hole rst (to secure the threads) (4). First row: always sew from left to right.
Turn the fabric 1/4 and oversew.
- The use of a darning ring is recommended to facilitate sewing and achieve better results.
DECORATIVE STITCHES
The most suitable settings for this stitch are as follows:
a. Stitch width 3 to 5.
b. Stitch length from 1 to 2.
c. Multipurpose presser foot
d. Stitch pattern F, K or G.
Turn the stitch width and stitch length adjustment knobs to adapt these two values to the fabric.
SHELL STITCH (A)
To decorate edges.
Suitable for the edges of sheer, thin and stretch fabrics.
The largest stitch should go just above the edge of the fabric to create the shell eect.
CRESCENT STITCH (B)
For a delicate nish along the edge of the fabric.
The stitch length must be set between 0.5 and 1.0.
LADDER STITCH (C)
For at seams, seams over elastic and visible hems.
This stitch can be used for rm, thicker fabrics.
