1. Features of the Printer Driver
❏ Properties on Windows 98/95
On Windows 98/95, the Properties dialog box is equivalent to the dialog that is opened from within an
application program.
The modifications you make here will be applied to all applications that run on Windows.
There are four tabs, Main, Paper, Overlay, and Utility, which allow you to change the settings of the spe-
cific features of this printer.
Main tab
This tab allows you to choose the autopalette that
is most appropriate for your data type (➔ page 33),
and also to define the number of copies (➔ page
34).
You can also modify the details of the autopalettes,
and save the new definitions (➔ page 39).
Paper tab
This tab contains the parameters concerning the
paper settings.
• Selecting the paper size (➔ page 41)
• Selecting the print direction (➔ page 42)
• Setting the Zoom in / Zoom out (➔ page 44)
Overlay tab
This tab allows you to specify a background im-
age or a pattern of ruled lines, so that you can
choose to print them overlaid with other texts and
graphics (➔ page 47).
Utility tab
This tab allows you to make the printer execute the
various actions of maintenance, upon commands
from the computer (➔ page 49).
The General, the Details, the Color Management, and the Sharing tabs enable you to
change the basic configurations in order to control the printer from Windows. Refer to
the README.TXT file of the printer driver, or the Windows Help files, for more detailed
information.
