legacy bridges that supports legacy STP feature.

Managing RSTP

Feature Overview

Rapid Spanning-Tree, specified by standard 802.1w, is an evolution of the original Spanning-Tree

protocol, specified by standard 802.1d.

RSTP provides a quicker convergence time compared to 802.1d STP, by not relying on timers to move an

interface to the Forwarding state.

All RSTP ports send BPDUs at each hello time (2 sec) intervals, which also helps with reducing the

convergence time.
