Selecting a memory
1. Use the [
É
] switch or the [
Ç
] switch to select a
memory.

You can also switch between memories by turning the [SELECT]
knob.
You can switch between memories by using the banks (which contain
three memories each) and numbers (1–3) in BANK/NUM mode.
For details, refer to “Selecting how to switch between memory
numbers” (p. 18).
About the play screen
The screen that appears after you turn on the power is called the play
screen.
The following three types of play screens are available. Use the [
Í
]
[
Ë
] buttons to switch between them.
Memory number displayed larger

Show functions assigned to the switches and other controls
Icons shown in the play screen
Areas which icons
are displayed
Display Explanation
Indicates the input level.
Indicates the output level.
Indicates the BPM.
Shows the page to which you’ve navigated (such as
the MENU screen) using the [
Í
] [
Ë
] buttons.
MEMO
You can change the parameters that are assigned to the [1]–[5] knobs
when the play screen is shown.
For details, refer to “Assigning the desired parameters to the [1]–[5]
knobs (KNOB SETTING)” (p. 17).
Using only the INST (modeling) sound (FX
BYPASS)
You can bypass all eects to check just the INST (modeling) sound or
to make settings.
You can also use just the VG-800 modeling sound to create sounds in
combination with an external amp and eects.
1. Press both the [
Ç
] and the [CTL 1] switches at the
same time to enable FX BYPASS.
“FX BYPASS” is shown onscreen.
To disable FX BYPASS, press the [Ç] and [CTL 1] switches at the
same time again.
