unexpectedly. Blade thrust can be controlled by the oper-
ator if proper precautions are taken.
u If the blade binds, or when interrupting a cut for any
reason, switch the machine off and hold the machine
motionless in the material until the blade comes to a
complete stop. While the blade is binding, never at-
tempt to remove the machine from the material or pull
the machine backward while the blade is in motion,
otherwise blade thrust may occur. Investigate and take
corrective actions to eliminate the cause of blade binding.
u Do not use blunt or damaged blades. Blunt or damaged
blades increase the risk of jamming or catching on an ob-
ject, resulting in blade thrust.
u Always maintain good visibility of the material being
cut. Blade thrust is more likely to occur in areas where it
is difficult to see the material being cut.
u If you are approached by another person while operat-
ing the machine, switch the machine off. There is an in-
creased risk of injury to other persons being struck by the
moving blade in the event of blade thrust.
Special Safety Warnings
u This tool contains magnets– keep away from implants
and other medical devices, e.g. pacemaker or insulin
pumps, magnetic storage media and magnetically
sensitive devices. The magnet generates a field that can
impair the function of the devices or lead to irreversible
data loss.
u Do not operate the machine on excessively steep
slopes. This reduces the risk of loss of control, slipping
and falling which may result in personal injury.
u Keep guards in place. Guards must be in working or-
der and be properly mounted. A guard that is loose,
damaged, or is not functioning correctly may result in per-
sonal injury.
u Never allow children, persons with physical, sensory or
mental limitations or a lack of experience and/or know-
ledge and/or people unfamiliar with these instructions to
use the machine. Local regulations may restrict the age of
the operator.
u Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not
play with the machine.
u Check the product for damage if it hits a hard object or in
case of excessive vibration.
u When shortening the cutting line, take care not to cut
yourself.
u When switching off the product, always make sure that
the motor and cutting head have come to a complete
standstill.
u Cut high and dense grass in stages to achieve uniform cut-
ting results.
u The dome washer(25) is used to slightly support the
product during use to protect the blade from obstacles
such as trees.
u When inserting the battery, make sure that the cutter
does not make contact with your body and other objects,
including the floor. The cutter may rotate during start-up
and cause injury or damage to the product and/or ob-
jects.
u Do not over reach and keep your balance at all times. Al-
ways be sure of your footing on slopes. Walk, never run.
u In case of prolonged use, we recommend to take appro-
priate breaks.
u Replace the cutting head if it is damaged or has reached
the wear limit.
u Keep your hands away from all sharp devices that can
shorten the line.
u Do not wear multiple shoulder harnesses simultaneously.
u Make sure that no other garment obstructs you when put-
ting on or taking off a shoulder harness.
Recommendations for Optimal Handling of the
Battery Pack
u Do not open the battery. There is a risk of short-circuit-
ing.
Protect the battery against heat (e.g.,
against continuous intense sunlight), fire,
water, and moisture. There is a risk of explo-
sion.
u When not using the machine detach the battery away
from paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws, or other
small metal objects that could cause bridging of the
terminals. Shorting the battery terminals together may
cause burns or a fire.
u In case of damage and improper use of the battery
pack, vapours may be emitted. Ventilate the area and
seek medical help in case of complaints. The vapours can
irritate the respiratory system.
u Only use the battery with products from the manufac-
turer. This is the only way in which you can protect the
battery against dangerous overload.
u The battery can be damaged by pointed objects such
as nails or screwdrivers or by force applied externally.
An internal short circuit may occur, causing the battery to
burn, smoke, explode or overheat.
u Do not short-circuit the battery. There is a risk of explo-
sion.
u Occasionally clean the venting slots of the battery using a
soft, clean and dry brush.
u Charge the machine only with the supplied battery
charger.
