Care and Cleaning
Important: Make sure the appliance is cool before you clean.
Material Cleaning Need to Know
Ceramic Glass
Cooktop Surface
• Allow the cooking surface to cool down.
• For spills and burned-on food, use a metal
scraper with a clean blade, holding it at 45-
degree angle.
• Put a small amount of multi-surface cleaner cream
on a damp towel or soft cloth, scrubbing in a
circular motion. Add more cleaner if needed,
completely removing it all with a clean damp
paper towel.
• For everyday cleaning and touch-ups, dilute a
mild detergent, such as dishwashing liquid, with
water, and spray it over the surface.
• Use a soft sponge or a damp towel to clean the
cooktop.
• Restore the cooktop’s aspect with a soft, dry cloth.
• Before cooking, make sure the bottom of the
cookware is clean and dry.
• Lift up the cookware to avoid sliding it across the
cooktop surface.
• Remove spilled sugar or syrup without waiting for
the surface to cool down. Protect your hand with a
pot holder, if necessary.
• Do not use abrasives such as mineral scouring pads,
scouring powders, or harsh chemical cleaners on
your cooktop surface.
Stainless Steel
• Clean with stainless steel cleaner and follow the
cleaner manufacturer’s instructions.
• Do not use steel wool, metal pads, or abrasive
cleaners.
• Do not use a metal knife, spatula, or any metal tool
to scrape these surfaces.
• Do not permit citrus or tomato juices to sit and dry
on these surfaces as citric acid will discolor the
surface. Wipe such spills immediately.
• Do not polish across the grain or in circles.
• Discoloration may occur with heavy use.
Painted Metal
• Use a soft cloth and a quality glass cleaner or
warm soapy water.
• Do not use steel wool, metal pads, or abrasive
cleaners.
• Do not use a metal knife, spatula, or any metal tool
to scrape these surfaces.
• Do not permit citrus or tomato juices to sit and dry
on these surfaces as citric acid will discolor the
surface. Wipe such spills immediately.
• Do not use paper towels or other coarse cloths.
Plated Finishes
(Brass, Copper,
Chrome, Oil-
Rubbed Bronze,
Pewter)
• The parts were treated with a protective clear coat
to prevent aging or discoloration. This clear coat
will last the life of the appliance unless the coating
is removed.
• Clean with a microber cloth using Endust,
Pledge, or something similar.
• Do not use a metal knife, spatula, or something
similar or any metal tool to scrape these surfaces.
• Do not permit citrus or tomato juices to sit and dry
on these surfaces as citric acid will discolor the
surface. Wipe such spills immediately.
• Do not use harsh cleaners (such as Brite Boy) as
these will remove the coating and cause the metals
to discolor.
