Before the rst use
1. Place the appliance and connect it (see “Setting up and connecting the appliance” chapter).
2. Clean removable parts as described under Cleaning and care.
3. Add water into water tanks to the max level and brew water for several times without
coffee grounds. Then dispose of the water.
Operation
• The appliance has two brewing systems: “lter coffee brewing system” and “espresso
brewing system”.
Setting up and connecting the appliance
CAUTION!
• Only connect the appliance to a properly installed socket. The socket must also be easily
accessible after plugging in the appliance, to ensure that it can be quickly disconnected
from power. The mains voltage must match the technical specications of the appliance.
• Lay the connection cable in such a way that it is not crushed or kinked and does not
come into contact with hot surfaces (this also applies to the appliance’s hot surfaces!).
• The appliance may only be operated in an upright position, never lying on its side,
standing at an angle, or upside down.
• Do not use the appliance in conjunction with extension cords.
• Always place the appliance on a at, rm, heat-resistant and resilient surface with a
clearance of at least 20 cm on each side and at least 30 cm above it.
• Do not place the appliance under kitchen cabinets or the like. The rising heat could
damage them!
1. Place the appliance on the kitchen counter or another dry, clean surface, observing
the safety instructions and the instructions at the beginning of this chapter.
2. Insert the mains plug into a socket outlet.
