5.7 Making a Call
NOTE: PPress the [A/B] key to switch the main channel to the other channel if two channels are shown on the display. In standby mode,
press the [V/M] key to switch between frequency (VFO) mode and channel (MR) mode.
• Channel mode call: After selecting a channel, hold down the [PTT] key to initiate a call. Speak into the microphone with a normal
tone. When making a call, the red LED will be on.
• Frequency mode call: Press the [V/M] to switch to frequency mode, input the working frequency within the allowable range, and press and
hold the [PTT] key to transmit on the c urrent frequency. Speak into the microphone with a normal tone. When making a call, the red LED will be
on.

• Receive a call: When you release the [PTT] key, you can receive incoming transmissions without any further action.
When receiving a call, the green LED will be on.
NOTE: To ensure optimal reception volume, maintain a distance of 2.5 cm to 5 cm between the microphone and your mouth during
transmission.
Using the Flashlight
5.9 Emergency
You can use this radio in an emerge ncy, press the [SK1] key to activate the high-intensity LED flashlight on your radio.
• Your radio functions normally while the emergency strobe is activated.
(1) Press the [SK1] key once to activate the flashlight in Always On mode.
(2) Press the [SK1] key ag a in to s witch t o Stro b e Emer g ency m o de, wh i ch emi t s an e m ergenc y signa l .
(3) Press the [SK1] key once m ore to turn off the light.
Alert

The Emergency Alert feature signals for help within your group.
(1)To activate the emergency alert function, press a nd hold the [SK1] key for 3 seconds. The radio will emit a loud siren and the flashlight
will flash.
(2)Press the [SK1] key again to exit the e mergency alert function.
WARNING: The Emergency Alert feature should only be used in the event of an actual emergency.
