Thread Cradle for Loopers

1. Open the cutting blade cover and front cover and raise the presser

foot.

2. At the threading port, cut the upper looper thread (g. A). Remove

thread from under the presser foot and the upper thread guides.

Replace thread cone with specialty thread. If the thread is not on a

standard cone make sure to use the proper support, a sponge disk

or large spool pin disk, when placing the thread on the spool pin.

3. Place the machine in threading position to thread the upper looper

(g. B and C).

4. Thread specialty thread in the upper thread guides, leaving a

22 inch (558mm) tail above the threading port (g. D).

5. Cut a 24 inch (600mm) length of overlock thread and fold in half to

form a thread cradle. Insert the cut ends of the thread cradle into

the port, about 1 inch (25mm).

6. Holding the cradle loop with one hand, press the "push to thread"

button (g. E) until the thread ends come out the looper eye.

7. Insert the specialty thread tail into the cradle loop (g. F), and pull

the overlock thread until the specialty thread comes through the

looper eye (g. G). Discard or set the thread cradle aside.

8. Place the decorative thread under the presser foot and close the

cutting blade cover and front cover.

Note: For the chain looper open the side door to pull the overlock

thread until the specialty thread comes through the looper eye. Place

the decorative thread in the thread tray (g. H) and close the side door.
