Chain/Cover Stitch Looper Tension Dial
The tension system for the chain and cover stitches is completely separate from the ATD system
used for the overlock stitches. Unlike the thread delivery system for the overlock stitches, the
tensions of the chain / cover stitch needles and chain looper are adjusted by dials located on the
left outer side and upper right front of the Splendor.
The chain/cover stitch needle tension dial is located on the left upper side of the machine.
The tension dial controls all three of the chain/cover stitch needle positions. With a standard
setting of "5", the dial can be adjusted from 0 - 9 to increase or decrease the tension on the
chain/cover stitch needle threads.
• Increase the tension by turning the dial to a larger number.
• Decrease the tension by turning the dial to a smaller number.
• Align the number with the indicator mark on the front of the machine near the dial.
The chain and cover stitch looper tension dial is located on the upper right front of the machine.
This dial can be turned from 0 - 5 to increase or decrease the tension on the chain looper thread.
The chain stitch section of the looper tension dial has a tighter tension. Select from 2-5 on
the dial for chain stitching.
The cover stitch section of the looper tension dial has a looser tension. Select from 0-2 on
the dial for cover stitching.
