ing. One bar is used as the ‘primary’ to control other bars in the chain. The Yorkville proprietary protocol con-
nection should be used to daisy chain from the primary. A unit under Bluetooth™ control will output signals on
the Yorkville proprietary protocol jacks to allow daisy chaining that mimics the bar under Bluetooth™ control.
8. Power Consumption
The advantage for using LED versus conventional incandescent lighting is two-fold, not only does the unit give
off less heat but it also consumes less than 5-20% of the energy. This may eliminate the need for separate AC
power circuits just to run the lights!
Power consumption is rated under 540 watts, depending on the color choice and intensity. The light pods
and the base are fan cooled. The AC connector will mate with a standard IEC cable or with a special locking
cable (sold separately).
9. Operation At Low Line Voltages
The LP-LED4PRO is a constant power device in relation to line voltage. This means, as the line voltage drops
the current drawn increases, potentially leading to an electrical overload condition. It is important to provide
adequate line voltage of at least 105 volts. This is a problem with units operating at the end of long extension
cords. With multiple units, the limit is 200 feet of 18 gauge extensions, 150 feet of 16 gauge, 300 feet of 14
gauge and 400 feet of 12 gauge. For operation with a single unit these distances can be doubled. These calcu-
lations assume a 5% drop at the outlet due to in wall wiring.
10. Power Management
The Brightness Control implements a power control feature where high consumption colors are re-
duced in brightness more than colors that consume less power. This feature engages when one, two
(or more) clicks back from full brightness.
11. AC Line Loop Through
The LP-LED4PRO provides an IEC power outlet that allows multiple units to share a single power cord. When
using this feature it is important to not connect too many units. Connecting too many units will lead to an over
current situation. There is a built in circuit breaker that will trip on seriously overloaded situations. With a current
draw of 4.5 amps per unit this limits the loop through to just 1 unit on loop-through. The Power management
feature allows reducing the current draw to allow 3 or even 4 units as the total limit for units sharing a line cord.
One click back from full power limits the current to 3.3 amps (at 120 VAC) allowing 3 units sharing one line
cord. Two clicks back limits the current to 2.5 amps allowing 4 units sharing one line.
12. Yorkville LP-C12 and LP-C4 Controllers
The LP-series lighting controllers provide an easy way to control LP-series lights. The LP-C4 is a simple con-
troller intended for foot controlled applications (and small applications). The desktop LP-C12 provides more
extensive effects, effects patch and scene controls in an easy-to-use format. The use of LP-series controllers
also are the easiest way to synchronize effects between bars. The LP-C12 patch allows some pods to be under
scene control while other pods are running effects.
13. Yorkville LP-608 Controller
When operating with the Yorkville Sound LP-608 lighting controllers the color controls on the LP-LED4PRO Bars
remain active. The Color control can be used to select the color of each pod or if the Color control is set to off then the
LP-608 Controller’s intensity control becomes the color control (including off) but the intensity is not controllable.
Note: Operation with the legacy LP-608 controller will require a ‘gender reversing’ adapter in line with the XLR
cable. This was done to prevent accidental connection to a DMX™ controller possibly causing damage.
