3.3. Device use
• The machine should be clean and empty.
• It is recommended that the material that shall be processed is pre-
crushed, mixed into one whole and its humidity cannot exceed 15%.
• Connect the machine to an appropriate power supply.
• Choose and install the die suitable for your needs (before first use or after
replacing the die or rollers, a run-in process should be carried out – see
chapter “Cleaning and maintenance” for details.)
• Prepare an adequate container for the produced pellet and place it
beneath the discharge tray. Alternatively You can hook up a bag on the
discharge tray.
• Start the machine and load a small amount of rough material to the
hopper and let the motor reach its operating temperature (60-80
o
C)
IMPORTANT: high temperature has a crucial effect on the final product, as
it destroys bacteria, viruses, parasites and other pathogens, as well as
forming an external hard surface on the granules that protects them.
against the ingress of moisture and contributes to the long-term
preservation of the pellet. The raw material used to preheat the machine
won’t be processed for pellet, but can be used again later in pellet
production.
• If needed adjust the position (play) of the roller and the die by tightening
or loosening the bolts of the pressure roller. Recommended gap is 0,3-1,0
mm (see chapter “Cleaning and maintenance” for details.)
• When the pellet producing process stabilizes, load the whole hopper and
start regular production till all Your raw material will be processed till the
end, that means the granulation chamber will be emptied from all the
processed rests.
• After last pellet granules come out from the discharge tray but the
machine still operates add about 100-200 ml of vegetable oil to the
granulation chamber – it will help clean die holes.
• Turn off the machine, unplug it from the mains and allow it to cool down.
• After the machine is cooled down, clean it from the rests. A still dirty die
holes can be cleaned with help from wooden or plastic knitting needle.
