Signal Words:
This manual uses SIGNAL WORDS to call attention to uses of this product that are likely to result in personal
injuries or property damage. The signal words used in this manual appear below along with their definitions.
Identifies a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, WILL result in DEATH or SERIOUS
INJURY. Use of this signal word is limited to the most extreme situations.
Identifies a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, COULD result in DEATH or SERIOUS
INJURY.
Indicates a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, COULD result in MINOR or MODERATE
injury.
Identifies practices likely to result in product/property damage, such as operation that might
damage the product or other property.
Hazards of Improper Use:
Study the entire manual before using this cart. A copy of the manual should be available to users at all times. Read
the manual to refresh your understanding of the safe operation, inspection or maintenance procedures whenever
necessary.
Improper or careless operation might result in serious personal injuries.
Failure to read and understand the entire manual before assembling, using or servicing the product
constitutes misuse. Read the manual to refresh your understanding of proper use and maintenance procedures
as necessary.
DO NOT apply a load that weighs more than the capacity of your cart. Capacity information appears on label 287
(see “Labeling diagram” on p. 5) as well as in the “Specifications” section on p. 2.
DO NOT allow people to stand or sit on either the cart or the load.
Always push the cart rather than pulling it. This keeps both the cart and the load in view while moving them.
DO NOT travel up or down inclines with a loaded cart unless you are certain that you can control the cart. Always
stand up hill from the cart.
DO NOT use the cart in corrosive environments. ONLY use the cart on compacted, improved surfaces capable of
supporting the combined weight of the cart plus a full capacity load.
ALWAYS center and evenly distribute loads on the deck. ALWAYS center all loads applied to the cart as
recommended on p. 4 (see “Using the cart”). Failure to properly position a load might cause it to fall over, shift,
slide, etc.
Secure loads to the deck if they are likely to roll or slide.
DO NOT use the cart unless it is in normal condition. Inspect the unit before each use according to the inspection
instructions on p. 5 to determine whether the unit is functioning normally. DO NOT use the cart unless it is in normal
condition.
DO NOT use the cart UNLESS all labels are in place and readable (see “Labeling diagram” on p. 5).
DO NOT modify this product in any way. Modifications automatically void the limited warranty and might make the
cart unsafe to use.
DO NOT use the cart if any label is unreadable, damaged, or missing (see “Labeling diagram” on p. 5). Contact
Vestil for replacement labels.
