5 Appliance functions
5.2 Description of functions
PartyCooling
PartyCooling temporarily provides increased cooling capacity whereby the temperature
of the refrigerator compartment is lowered to the coldest value. The appliance can thus
react better to the effect of opening the door frequently and loading warm food. This in-
creases the noise emissions and energy consumption of the appliance. PartyCooling can
be set to run 12, 24 or 48 hours.
Fast cooling/freezing
The fast cooling/freezing functions allow a larger quantity of food, e.g. after a shopping
trip or freezing pre-cooked meals, to be cooled more quickly. The temperature of the re-
frigerator compartment for fast cooling and of the freezer compartment for fast freezing
are lowered to the coldest value for 24 hours. During fast cooling/freezing, the appliance
operates at higher power, which increases the noise level above the normal operating
noise level. The functions switch off automatically. To prevent food that is already being
stored from warming up: activate fast cooling/freezing several hours beforehand (e.g. be-
fore going shopping).
To achieve maximum freezing capacity, the following must be observed: To freeze the
maximum quantity (see the identification plate) use the floor of the freezer compartment
and activate fast freezing immediately before storing the fresh food. Transfer already
frozen food to the shelf in the freezer compartment. Distribute the food to be frozen
evenly over the floor of the freezer compartment. Do not place any more food for freez-
ing in the freezer compartment for the next 24 hours during the freezing process.
Fast freezing does not need to be activated if storing food that is already frozen or
freezing up to about 1kg of fresh food a day.
Holiday function
With the holiday function, only the freezer compartment is operated at the selected set
temperature. For hygiene reasons, the refrigerator compartment operates at a higher
temperature. Close the refrigerator compartment door. The holiday function is not inten-
ded to be used for the purpose of storing food in the refrigerator compartment.
Sabbath mode
When the Sabbath mode is activated, all visual and acoustic warnings as well as operat-
ing and display elements are turned off for the selected duration (30, 54 or 78 hours).
Opening the appliance door will not affect the illumination or the behaviour of the appli-
ance. Any timer running when the Sabbath mode is activated is ended, no acoustic
signal is emitted.
