Triangle and Simple Truss
WHAT’S HAPPENING
Structural engineers regularly combine
simple, well-understood elements
together to build more complex
structures. In this case, four triangles
are combined together to form what is
called a simple truss. The truss uses a
relatively small amount of material
to achieve a relatively large amount
of stability.
