HERE’S HOW
. Hold the -R Concave lens tube close to
your eye. Hold the eyepiece tube with your
right hand.
. Slowly move the tube back and forth with
your left hand. A clear image will appear.
. Now insert one of the aperture cards into
the telescope and observe its effect.
WHAT’S HAPPENING
Adding a second -R Concave lens in the eyepiece tube increases the
magnifying power of the scope by almost two times. The image
viewed with this scope is magnified more than the one in Experiment
, but the size of the visual field is smaller. Because of its smaller
visual field, it is more difficult to hold the scope steady enough to
focus on an object.
