SCIENCE! The air pressure inside
the bottle prevents any more
water from flowing into it. Be-
cause water is blocking its way,
the air cannot escape from the
bottle. Only when the air is
able to escape can water flow
in to replace it.

Pour
a fine
stream of
water into
the funnel.
The water
will run out
the boom.
The funnel is completely
unblocked.
I can also
stick this
straw right
through it.
But I can use my magical
powers to plug up the funnel.
Pay attention!
Pour water into the funnel until
no more runs through.
Abracadabra!

Done! Now, that’s
