Chic designer sneakers
You can use the backstitch technique to conjure up awesome
designs, pictures, or letters quickly and easily. How about a
pair of embroidered canvas sneakers?
You:
Embroidery needle, embroidery thread,
paper, colored pencils, thin canvas shoes,
chalk
Here’s how:

Start by brainstorming about what
kind of cool design or picture you
want to make. It should be composed
of individual fine lines, so letters will
work really well too. It’s always best
to make a preliminary sketch on a
sheet of paper.
Then, draw your design with chalk
directly on the shoes and stitch long
the chalk lines using a backstitch.
Follow the instructions on page 14.
